The best BAD ART...

Had an incredible studio visit with Bad Art legend Neil Jenney yesterday.
I feel super lucky to have been given a tour of his massive loft on Wooster St that he's been in for 34 years!
He gave me a history lesson, showing the works from the 60's to present day.
We talked for an hour about all manor of topics, ranging from guns in America to the lack of existence of any scientific proof of God.
He just signed on to be represented by Gagosian again, so look out for a big show.

I've tried but I'm not sure I have these photos of the works in the chronological order they were created.
These are just a few...
Found objects, turned into sculpture. I think he said 1968. Similar work at the MoMA.. http://www.moma.org/collection/object.php?object_id=87285

Name of this work is...

..notice the duck on the floor..

I think he told me this was the first one where he did "good drawing" within 'bad painting".

Love this one!

Like me, he does not like having his photo taken, so I became the model, to show you the scale of these pieces.

The last thing he showed me was one of his lists from a pile of papers. He makes text based works from some of these thoughts. I have to say, I like number 17.

SAD SHOW..

Cant believe I'm saying it, but Radiohead at Roseland was not as good as it should have been. Way too many people & not even close to loud enough.
Band were incredible, just couldn't feel it.
